Lexcel is a Legal Practice Quality Standard for Client Care, Compliance and Practice Management.
Lexcel Accreditation should add considerable value to your Practice \ In-house Legal Department if implemented and maintained correctly and sets the standard for client care, risk management, people management, structure and strategy, financial management, information management, file and case management.
Certificates last for 3 years.
Expect the process to take around six months, although this is dependent on the number of practice areas, fee earners and support staff.
The Assessment process consists of:
Year 1
Practice \ Office Manual review, interviews and evidence gathering - First certificate given upon passing this Assessment.
Year 2
Annual Maintenance Visit 1 Assessment - around 12 months after the Initial Assessment, includes sample interviews and evidence gathering.
Year 3
Annual Maintenance Visit 2 Assessment - around 12 months after Annual Maintenance Visit 1, and again includes sample interviews and evidence gathering.
Year 4
Full Re-Assessment - Around 12 months after the previous Annual Maintenance Visit 2. Another 3 year Certificate is provided if successful.
