Legal Practice Quality Standard

• Lexcel is a Legal Practice Quality Standard for Client Care, Compliance and Practice Management. 
• Lexcel Accreditation should add considerable value to your Practice \ In-house Legal Department if implemented and maintained correctly and sets the standard for client care, risk management, people management, structure and strategy, financial management, information management, file and case management.
• Certificates last for 3 years.
• Expect the process to take around six months, although this is dependent on the number of practice areas, fee earners and support staff. 
• The Assessment process consists of:

Year 1

• Practice \ Office Manual review, interviews and evidence gathering - First certificate given upon passing this Assessment.

Year 2

• Annual Maintenance Visit 1 Assessment - around 12 months after the Initial Assessment,  includes sample interviews and evidence gathering.

Year 3

• Annual Maintenance Visit 2 Assessment - around 12 months after Annual Maintenance Visit 1,  and again includes sample interviews and evidence gathering.

Year 4

• Full Re-Assessment - Around 12 months after the previous Annual Maintenance Visit 2.  Another 3 year Certificate is provided if successful.
